Mohamed Afify is an associate at Gibson & Barnes LLP.

Mohamed joined the firm after articling at a prominent union-side labour firm in Toronto. 

He earned his JD from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law where he headed several societies and participated in competitive moots. Prior to law school, he earned an Honours Bachelor of Art from University of Toronto (Mississauga Campus). While at UTM, he received the University of Toronto Excellence Award in Social Sciences and Humanities (2019) for his contributions on the Refugee Integration Stress and Equity team, a longitudinal study assessing Syrian refugee integration in Canada. 

In his free time, Mohamed enjoys hosting dinner parties, watching tv on the couch with his cats and playing the banjo.
